In January 2010 Marist Youth Care’s Pete’s Place became a registered school as an annexe of the John Berne School.
Pete’s Place offers placements to young people for whom mainstream schools can’t cater, so that they might achieve the School Certificate qualification.

Sammy started running away when he was just 8 years old to escape conflict at home. His parents were constantly arguing and there was also tension between Sammy and his siblings. By the time he was 10, he had left home several times, often sleeping rough for a few days.
